This song totally says just that... I love this song. It reminds me of times when we feel we've COMLETELY blown it before God and the world, and yet Jesus is right there, holding us, loving us, desiring us, and longing for us to know we are already restored to Him. His love is so deep and so forgiving... so passionate. Through His sacrifice, nothing could separate us from the Love of God.
I do! :)
Check out the B&B Remix to "Cut" on purevolume's page for Plumb. It's kickin! I've even heard this at the gym!
If I remember correctly, I think Randy would like this one!
Also, listen to "Good Behavior".
Hey everyone!
One of my favorite bands just released their next album: "Cities" by Anberlin. You can check out some of their tunes at Pure Volume (including Godspeed). Also, you can see their website 'freshened' in light of the new album. While they're not as culturally Christian as most other bands I tend to like, these guys are Christians and their music is faithfully distributed through Christian marketing channels (Bible stores, online Christian retailers, Christian Radio, etc.). I just LOVE their sound.
You can bet that this sucker is already on my Kaboodle page! And, by the way, check it out to see what other kind of stuff I like listening to!
UPDATE 02/23/07: You can purchase the limited special edition with DVD for $7.99 from amazon.com. Go for it!!!
So, some of you probably realized by now that I am the proud father of three little boys. And, proud I am. However, I am also the uncle of three little girls: Rebecca, Rayne, and Reesa. And, although it's 'on my plate' to be a father to boys, I also have a heart to be a meaningful uncle to these precious little girls.
Actually, when it comes to this generation of kids in our family, Girls are definitely the minority. Of the 10 grandchildren, there are only three girls. When I was 'one of the grandkids' in my family, there were only four girls out of 13 grandchildren, so it was a very similar set of stats. Therefore, I'm finding that every once in a while, I begin to feel the void of femininity in my family. But, my wife is plenty 'girlie' so that I am able to stay in reality among my brood of gents.
ANYWAY... what brought all of this up was a song from a new CD that I just bought for my wife for Valentine's Day: Superchic[k]'s album "Beauty from Pain 1.1" The song is "One Girl Revolution". Another good one is "Anthem".
The lyrics to "One Girl Revolution" go like this:
I wear a disguise I'm just your average jane
the super doesn't stand for model
but that doesn't mean I'm plain
if all you see is how I look you missed the superchick within
and I christen you Titanic underestimate and swim
[Chorus]
And I'll be everything
that I wanna be
I am confidence in insecurity
I am a voice yet waiting to be heard
I'll shoot the shot bang that you hear round the world
(And) I'm a one girl revolution
Some people see the revolution
but most only see the girl
I can lose my hard earned freedom if my fear defines my world
I declare my independence from the critics and their stones
I can find my revolution I can learn to stand alone
[Chorus]
(And) I'm a one girl revolution [x5]
[Chorus x2]
